Reese Witherspoon has organised a 'Legally Blonde' reunion for charity

The 44-year-old actress has confirmed a virtual get-together for the hit 2001 comedy's cast - including the likes of Luke Wilson, Holland Taylor and Jennifer Coolidge - as they reunite "for the first time in 20 years"

Taking to social media ahead of Tuesday night's (20.10.20) event, Reese wrote on Instagram: "Ohmigod you guys!! It's a Legally Blonde Reunion.

"We laughed, we cried and we may or may not have done the bend & snap for old times sake!

"For the first time in 20 years, join me and the #LegallyBlonde cast tomorrow at 3:15PM PST on the @hellosunshine YouTube channel!

"PS: Don't you want to see if Elle and Warner finally make up?"

She posted a trailer for the virtual group video chat - which will be raising money for World Central Kitchen - and revealed Selma Blair, Ali Larter, Jessica Cauffiel and Alanna Ubach will also be taking part.

The comedy - which starred Reese as law student Elle Woods - was followed up by sequel, 'Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde', in 2003.

Meanwhile, Mindy Kaling is currently working on a third movie in the franchise, and she recently admitted she has been quoting the original film to its leading lady for years.

She said: "I'd been working with her on a couple movies and we've been friends for a while.

“I have always quoted the movies to her — I was that annoying friend that would be like, ‘Bend and snap' to her. And she asked me, ‘You know, I'd really love to revisit this character'.

"I was nervous because the movie is so iconic. But then I thought, ‘It'd be really fun to see that character in her 40s. What is Elle Woods dealing with as a 41-year-old woman?' ”
