An increase in water demand - and a lack of decent rainfall has resulted in water restrictions for Napier

Napier City Council's Jon Kingsford says the city's water usage increases every summer, pressuring the reservoirs.
Water can only be used outdoors on alternating days - matching odd and even house numbers to odd or even days of the month - and only between 6 and 8am, and 7 and 9pm.
Water restrictions imposed by the council don't usually lift until autumn.
