Northland's one win away from a first stint in the Mitre 10 Cup's top division since the split in 2011

Northland's one win away from a first stint in the Mitre 10 Cup's top division since the split in 2011

The Taniwha have upset Otago 32-19 in their championship semi-final in Dunedin, twice coming from behind to claim the victory.

Lock Josh Goodhue says they simply wanted it more.

They'll face the winner of today's game between Hawke's Bay and Taranaki.

Kiwi Michael Venus and Australian doubles partner John Peers have finished the ATP tennis finals in London, winless.

They've lost 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 to a Croatian-Brazilian pair in their final group stage match.

They were needing to win and have other results go their way if they were to advance to the semi-finals.
