Another health concern in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic

A Viewpoint in the Medical Journal has reviewed previous research and found that in most cases in recessions, heart disease increases.

Co-author Dr Anja Mizdrak says a lot of it is because of increased stress due to unemployment and financial instability.

She says this is something to bear in mind when we have increased unemployment as a result of the global pandemic.
