Wellington City Council is being accused of ignoring the city's housing crisis for decades

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has released figures showing around six-million dollars has been spent in the last year on emergency housing in Wellington.
Resident group "City For People NZ" spokesperson, Isla Stewart, says the council is to blame, and it's needed a new plan for thirty years.
She says housing supply in Wellington has been bad for the last few decades and council hasn't consented enough houses to see home built to meet the increase in population.
