    Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome has confirmed A-League officials admitted the decision to red card midfielder Alex Rufer was wrong


    The club fumed after Rufer was sent off for a challenge on Macarthur FC's Denis Genreau in their 1-all draw at Campbelltown Stadium.

    Referee Stephen Lucas had originally booked Rufer, but after consultation with the VAR official decided to up the ante.
