Daisy Edgar-Jones cut her bangs after losing a role
The 22-year-old actress - who plays Marianne Sheridan in 'Normal People' - became recognised for her character's iconic fringe in the hit BBC series and has since revealed that she gave herself the hairstyle after she was rejected from a previous job

Appearing on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon', she said: "It's so funny 'cause my fringe came from a result of like not getting a part I really wanted. And I was so sad and I was like, 'Right, I'm gonna do a change, I'm just gonna chop off all my front bits of my hair.'
"And then after that, I got a job. So I do owe a lot of my career too - I seem to only be able to act if you can only see a partial amount of my face."
However, Daisy's bangs - which have their own Instagram account - grew "out of control" during the coronavirus lockdown and asked her flatmate to trim them for her while the hairdressers were shut.
She told host Jimmy : "My poor flatmate had the responsibility of cutting it. He did a pretty good job but it definitely went through lots of different stages and now I'm trying to grow it out and that's stressful enough as it is."
What's more, the 'Cold Feet' star has admitted she suffered from impostor syndrome when she found out she got the part of Marianne and questioned whether they "got it wrong" by casting her.
She revealed: "It was bloody terrifying. When I got the part, I was very excited. Then I had the fear settle in, the imposter syndrome of thinking, have they actually got it wrong? I learnt a lot during filming about being more confident in my voice and not feeling like I have to quieten it."
