An Auckland beauty salesperson's been slapped with a 31-thousand-500 dollar fine - for selling edible birds' nests

The 30-year-old was sentenced after pleading guilty to three biosecurity breaches in the Waitakere District Court yesterday.
In 2019, Linying Ouyang sold two nests - worth 765 dollars - and tried to sell four more, over messaging app WeChat.
The Ministry for Primary Industries says the Chinese delicacies are made from Swiflet bird saliva.
A spokesperson claims importing the nests increases New Zealand's risk of exposure to avian diseases.
