Rafferty Law “hesitated” about pursuing an acting career because of his famous parents

The ‘Twist’ actor – who is the son of Jude Law and Sadie Frost - had always enjoyed performing in school plays but admitted he had second thoughts in his teen about following his interest because he knew he’d inevitably be compared to his dad

Asked if he’d hesitated to act because of Jude’s success, he admitted: “Definitely. At school, I always loved being in plays from a young age, but when I was about 15 I started hesitating.

“I felt if the comparison and the pressure were going to be there, maybe music was more for me.

“But then I also felt like I owed it to myself to see if I could work hard and do it, and I’m really happy that I did.”

And Rafferty knew he could get advice from his dad when he landed his first major film role in ‘Twist’.

He said: “Growing up we always went on adventures together. I was obsessed with ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and would make him take me to Primrose Hill, where we’d run around and create our own fairytale world, dressing up and making up plays.

“With ‘Twist’ he gave me a bit of advice before filming: stay calm, stay confident, make sure you get to know everyone, go and introduce yourself, learn everyone’s names and make the set a fun environment.”

During their marriage, Jude and Sadie were part of a hard-partying group of friends that were dubbed the Primrose Hill Set and also included the likes of Kate Moss, Noel and Liam Gallagher and their then-wives Meg Matthews and Patsy Kensit, and Pearl Lowe.

However, Rafferty, 24, insisted he wasn’t aware of their reputations until recently.

He told Sunday Times Style magazine: “I was never aware of that kind of label until a lot more recently.

“When it comes to scenes and crews or whatever you’re going to call them, people looking in from the outside always think it’s something more, when it could just be a group of friends hanging out…

“I don’t really have any memories of waking up with many famous people in the house.”
