Forgiveness from the victim of a Taita hit and run

Forgiveness from the victim of a Taita hit and run

Anna Chesterfield was struck down on a pedestrian crossing last month, and is still recovering in Wellington Hospital.

One of her legs is badly shattered, and she only took her first steps with a zimmer frame yesterday - it could be a year before she can properly walk again.

She's found out she doesn't have brain damage, but is facing weeks or even months in hospital.

Despite all that, the 37-year-old has nothing but sympathy for the person who ran her down.

She doesn't know what's going on in his life and isn't holding it against him.

A 27-year-old has yet to plead, and is due back in court next week.
