A rape allegation against Christian Porter is playing out in the court of public opinion, despite the fact it will never reach a judicial court

Australia's Attorney-General has taken sick leave after denying the allegation, which dates back to when he was a teenager.

The woman went to police last year, but withdrew the complaint before taking her own life in June.

Charles Croucher from Nine News says there will be no victors, regardless of the outcome.

He says there's a lot of people, mostly online, who have already deemed him guilty, without any evidence.
