A warning from researchers -- that too many Kiwi kids are on track to develop diabetes

A new Massey University study of about 400 children shows about 16 percent of them have blood glucose levels equivalent to being pre-diabetic.
The risk is greater among South Asian and Pacific children, and those who exercise less or have wider waists.
Researcher Pamela Von Hurst says the results are alarming and took them by surprise.
She says type two diabetes has historically been viewed as an adult disease, which usually doesn't develop until late adulthood.
