New research by Otago University's Dunedin Study has found rates of depression among 15-year-olds has doubled since the 1980s.
Researcher Bob Hancock says it reflects drastic changes to New Zealand society -- including Rogernomics and the proliferation of screen technology.
He says the increase is not a case of depression becoming less taboo, as they used a consistent definition of depression.
