    Two people have been taken into custody following a burglary in Kotemaori near Wairoa


    It comes after Police received a report of a theft at a rural property near State Highway Two at 10 this morning.

    The alleged offenders left the scene in a vehicle stolen from the address.

    Police found the car driving along the highway and used road spikes to stop it near Napier at around 11:35.

    A woman and a man were taken into custody by Police and are currently speaking to them in relation to the burglary.

    No one was injured during the incident.
