58-year-old Simon Strickland died when his life support was turned off, four days after being assaulted in Te Papa's car park.
The 28 year old has made his second appearance in the Wellington District Court today.
The Crown alleges he caused Strickland's death by punching his head.
He was previously charged with wounding with intent to injure, but now faces the additional charge of manslaughter.
He'll reappear in the Wellington High Court in April.
