Housing is seeing record-shattering surges in rent across the board

According to the latest Trade Me Rental Index, the average property saw an increase of six percent from the same time in 2020 - the biggest jump in two and a half years.
Rents in every region have had a bump, with Hawke's Bay topping the list - seeing a rise of nearly 14 percent.
Trade Me Property Sales Director Gavin Lloyd says supply isn't keeping up with demand so rents could continue to climb.
