22 April 2021
Chante Harmer and her two youngest children died after their car collided with another vehicle in 2019 near Ashburton.
An inquest began this morning in Ashburton before Coroner Marcus Elliot.
The court heard Harmer failed to give way and collided with the other vehicle
Police say there's evidence she was braking.
Senior Constable John McIntyre says the Give Way sign was clearly visible from 120 metres - but from a distance it blended into the background.
