Around 300 Pasifika education leaders are gathering in Christchurch today for a national Fono - or meeting.
They'll look at how the system can be more responsive to Pasifika learners.
Primary teachers union spokesperson Caroline Mareko says it's about ensuring a better future for both children and educators.
She hopes participants will learn more about themselves - and where they are placed to be in front of children.
