There's agreement that Auckland's Queen Street needs to change ... it's just different parties have strikingly different views on the matter

A million-dollar makeover by Auckland Council is set to begin on Monday after the High Court declined an interim injunction to stop the works.

It had been requested by the Save the Queen Street Society.

Heart of the City chief executive Vic Beck - who is part of the society - says she thinks construction in the area has brought anti-social behaviours to the street.

She says it's very problematic at the moment - and she thinks it's part of what's holding Queen Street back from being fabulous.

They're going back to court. ... with a hearing set down for July 28.
