Alexa PenaVega has given birth to her third child

The 'Spy Kids' star took to Instagram to reveal she and her husband Carlos PenaVega have welcomed a baby girl, Rio, into the world, and the little one is currently "kicking some serious booty" in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit), but Alexa hopes they can go home "very soon"

She wrote: "SO.. we’ve been MIA these last few days. Let’s just say we learned once again that God is always in control. You may have a PLAN for your life, but all that really matters is HIS plan. Little Rio could not wait to come out and play with her brothers! Momma is feeling good and baby girl is kicking some serious booty in the NICU. Praying we can all be home together very soon! What a wave of emotions. Much love and thanks to all the Nurses, Doctors from Maui to Oahu - who brought little Rio safely into this world. (sic)"

The 32-year-old star also shared a picture of her hand clutching onto Rio's in hospital.

Carlos also posted the same message on Instagram, and he added some praise for his "rock" Alexa.

He wrote: "Can’t wait to share the story with you all! I lift up my wifey @vegaalexa on this Mother’s Day. YOU ARE A CHAMP! I could never do what you do. The best momma to our 2 boys and now little girl. Thank you for being a solid rock for this family (sic)"

The couple - who have sons Ocean, four, and two-year-old Kingston together - have already created an Instagram account for their daughter, whose full name is Rio Rey PenaVega.

Rio - who was born on Friday (07.05.21) - has already amassed more than
