A Kiwi space company will be going green as it sends a two satellites into space today

A Kiwi space company will be going green as it sends a two satellites into space today

Rocket Lab is launching Electron at 10pm from Mahia Peninsula, with the BlackSky earth observation payload onboard.

Founder and CEO, Peter Beck, says the company will try to recycle as much of the rocket as it can, and aims to do even better than a similar attempt in November.

He says the heat shield has been strengthened to withstand descent, and a black cradle called Orca will be used.

Beck says it enables them to fish the rocket out of the ocean in good condition for further inspection, and ultimately component re-flight.
