Megan Barnes is amongst the hundreds of homeowners involved in the 220 million dollar class action against James Hardie over leaky homes.
She told the High Court in Auckland she bought her Hataitai house in 2011.
Three years later she noticed cracks above the shower, which unveiled major problems like rot.
She ended up having to get the house fully re-clad with the cost ballooning from 173-thousand, to 250-thousand dollars.
Barnes lived through the work, describing it as hellish, and six years on she's still repaying family she had to borrow the money from.
The trial's expected to run until at least September.
