    A 30-year-old man's due in the Wellington District Court today on multiple charges including arson, reckless driving, assault and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm.

    A 30-year-old man's due in the Wellington District Court today on multiple charges including arson, reckless driving, assault and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm.


    It relates to an incident yesterday near the Basin Reserve.

    Two vehicles - understood to be a red-coloured Mazda sedan and a green-coloured Subaru Legacy station wagon - travelled together through the Terrace Tunnel before stopping on the Tinakori Road off-ramp.

    Police then received reports of a Subaru Legacy on fire.

    Anyone who saw the incident, or has footage of it, should call Police on 105 .
