The New Zealand IndyCar driver and 2008 winner of the big race has pole for its 2021 edition on Monday.
However, Dixon has had a sinus infection and head cold over the last week, but says he's finally on the mend.
Dixon's topped the timesheets in the final practice session.
Compatriot Scott McLaughlin's gone seventh quickest.
