They face Manu Samoa in Wellington tonight, the first time they've played in the Capital since 1993.
There won't be fans for the drought-ending occasion though, with crowds not allowed due to the city being in alert level two.
Maori assistant coach Chris Gibbes says what makes the team even more special is the cultural aspect.
