The next men's Rugby World Cup is still two years away, but Fiji coach Vern Cotter believes major lessons for the tournament will be learned from the two tests against the All Blacks

The next men's Rugby World Cup is still two years away, but Fiji coach Vern Cotter believes major lessons for the tournament will be learned from the two tests against the All Blacks

Tomorrow's second matchup marks the first time New Zealand and Fiji have squared-off in consecutive weeks in their history.

Cotter says it'll hold them in good stead for 2023.

Time is of the essence for organisers of the Rugby League World Cup to solidify a full slate of competing nations.

The tournament has been confirmed to go ahead as planned, kicking off in exactly 99 days in England.

NZRL CEO Greg Peters says they've signed the participation agreement, on the condition they're provided with a firm plan around safety protocols amid the global pandemic.

Peters adds they want a plan in place by the end of this month.

Laurie Laxon, who trained Empire Rose to victory in the 1988 Melbourne Cup, has died.
