A smaller design is on the cards for Christchurch's new multi-use arena ... to fend off a 130 million dollar blow-out

Councillors will vote on Thursday whether to go for a 25 thousand seat stadium ... and smaller interior - to stay within the 470 million budget.
The initial concept had 30 thousand seats, concert staging on the field and a full concourse.
Recreation Head, Nigel Cox, says building and shipping costs have risen dramatically.
He says the new design balances affordability, with maintaining amenities.
