A Christchurch father, jailed for shaking a month-old baby who later died from brain injuries, has won a legal battle to have brain samples reviewed

Hayden Gray was jailed for 10 years and six months after being found guilty of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to four-week-old Carter Hutton in July 2017.
The child died one year and one day after suffering the injuries.
Gray is appealing his convictions and had applied to the Court of Appeal to access microscope slides and blocks taken from the baby's brain at post-mortem.
The court has ordered a forensic pathologist provide the samples to UK Doctor Daniel du Plessis.
The UK experts says he needs the samples to give an opinion on the merits of the appeal
