MetService has issued a heavy snow watch for parts of Canterbury and Marlborough from tomorrow morning.
Mid-Canterbury Federated Farmers Provincial president David Clark says farmers need to stay up-to-date with the forecast.
He says its important to move freshly shorned stock, calving cows and lambing ewes into good shelter.
Meanwhile, Waka Kotahi is warning South Island drivers to check MetService if travelling late in the day on the alpine passes.
