In one break-in, eight masked thieves took off with 40-thousand dollars worth of cigarettes and vapes from a Quay Street store.
Just two days later, a worker at Localito convenience store in Queen Street was hit with a golf club by thieves at a 10-pm robbery.
Owner Mahmoud Haban, who has six dairies, says he had to shut a store last week because he had no staff.
He says workers have told him they don't feel safe, have families to think about and don't want to work in that environment.
