Calls for a mental health co-response team to attend emergency callouts in Canterbury

20-percent of the areas police callouts are for people experiencing mental health issues.
It's prompted National's Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey and local resident Matt Hennessey to start a petition, to address the issue.
The petition is asking the Canterbury DHB to establish a dedicated mental health co-response team to work alongside other emergency responders.
