John Tamihere's launched legal action, in efforts to boost Maori Covid-19 vaccination rates

Papers were filed in the High Court at Wellington yesterday, after the Ministry of Health didn't hand over the personal details of Maori yet to be jabbed.
Tamihere, the chief executive of Whanau Ora Commissioning Agency, says health providers already have the information, but it'd take a couple of months to go through individual patient files.
He wants a more workable copy from the ministry, so they can identify where unvaccinated Maori are.
Tamihere says they want to deploy their vaccine campervans into areas where there are major concentrations of people yet to be jabbed.
Only 58 percent of eligible Maori have had their first dose.
