2 November 2021
Fire crews were called to a fire at the Bromley plant just after 3pm yesterday.
Black smoke blew across the city and some residents were evacuated.
Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Andrew Norris says crews are still at the fire.
He says the fire is contained to two very large tanks which have extensive damage to the roof and internal structure.
The wastewater treatment plant is operating at a limited capacity.
