Victoria University of Wellington has pulled the pin on its end of year graduation ceremonies

The decision has been made to cancel the events this month - and next - due to uncertainty around Covid-19 restrictions.

Graduates are now invited to join the ceremonies in May next year.

Chancellor Neil Paviour-Smith says they waited as long as they could to make the call.

He says there was just too much uncertainty and it was considered highly unlikely they'd be able to hold large scale events like the ceremonies and the parades.
