A car meet in New Plymouth over Labour Weekend's resulted in two car accidents and an assault on Police property

Police say a person was struck by a car on De Havilland Drive during the event on October 23, and ended up in hospital.
Later that night, Officers were called to another crash on Centennial Drive after a car collided with a parked car.
The driver was not connected to the car event and had accidentally skidded on diesel poured on the road by participants.
When officers responded - a group surrounded and jumped on the patrol car, smashing the windscreen and rear window.
An 18-year-old man's been charged for the first crash, nine cars have been impounded and fifteen traffic infringements issued.
