Two Covid-19 clusters have formed in the Nelson-Tasman region, which now has 14 active cases.
It includes cases in Enner Glynn School and Broadgreen Intermediate.
Nelson Marlborough DHB chief medical officer Dr Nick Baker says the clusters are evolving.
He says Covid is here, they can expect case numbers to increase - and it's something they've been planning for.
New Zealand has 172 new Covid community cases today, including the 10 in Nelson-Tasman, one still to be officially recorded.
There are 142 in Auckland, 15 in Waikato, two in Lakes, and one each in Bay of Plenty and MidCentral.
