Police had their hands full last night dealing with the fallout from Auckland's first big night out

Police had their hands full last night dealing with the fallout from Auckland's first big night out

The troubles included a serious assault on Karangahape Road that left a person in hospital.

A 22 year old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police say the central city had notably fewer people partying compared to a pre-lockdown Friday night.

But a spokesperson said they were busy with a number of disorder-related incidents involving highly intoxicated people.
