Efeso Collins wants to build bridges in Auckland - and says he'll do it, with or without Labour Party support

The Auckland Councillor's put his hat in the ring to become the next mayor of the city.

Phil Goff is standing down at October's local body elections after nearly six years.

Collins says we need an understanding of what people's vision is for Auckland, and how we're building a sustainable legacy for our children.

He says that way we'll be able to build bridges, whether it's across the city or with people.

Collins says there's a lot of separation and it's important people feel connected.

Efeso Collins says he's a Labour party member, but will contest the mayoralty even if he doesn't win the party's endorsement.
