The head of petrol company Waitomo Fuel hopes the spike in petrol prices won't last long

The independent discount chain has hiked prices by around 30 cents a litre, citing increasing pressures due to sanctions on Russia, and Covid-19.
Stations were overrun with customers ahead of the increase, with six of them completely running out.
Waitomo Managing Director Jimmy Down says he worries for those on a tight budget.
He says some people can only afford to put 20 dollars worth of fuel in at a time?and so the company tries to deliver the best prices possible.
