An education union says an OECD reports shows the need for more education sector support

It found in New Zealand, experienced teachers are more likely to work in advantaged schools.
The report recommends governments ensure all schools can recruit and retain effective teachers - including providing incentives and support for teachers to work in more challenging schools.
NZEI President Liam Rutherford says the report points clearly to needing a better staffed and resourced education sector.
He says the sector needs access to more teachers, support staff and specialists within learning support.
