A woman whose baby was taken from her in 1964 has finally received an apology from the Anglican Church

Maggie Wilkinson was sent to St Mary's in Otahuhu, a home for unwed mothers, at 19.
Her newborn daughter was taken from her while she slept.
The Anglican Church offered her a financial settlement and the Bishop of Auckland, Ross Bay, apologised to Wilkinson last Friday at her Gisborne home.
Speaking to the Herald, Wilkinson says she needs to process what happened.
She says after all the years of being invalidated, she finds it hard to accept an apology but believes it was done in hope and good faith.
