Five Timaru teenagers were killed when a Nissan Bluebird sedan they were travelling in struck a power pole and tore in two in August last year.
Only the driver, 19-year-old Tyreese Fleming, who was on a restricted licence, survived the crash.
He was later charged with five counts of manslaughter.
This morning, he appeared in the High Court at Timaru for a case review hearing and entered guilty pleas to the reduced charges of dangerous driving causing death.
