The next step in rolling out a school-based mental health support service

The next step in rolling out a school-based mental health support service

The Government's setting aside 90 million dollars over four years in Thursday's Budget to expand its Mana Ake programme.

Health Minister Andrew Little says if it is going to be meaningful in different areas - it's got to meet the needs of local populations.

He says the funding will cover about 195 thousand primary and intermediate aged children - and that'll be rolled out further in coming years.

The Government's also revealed part of a 100 million dollar specialist mental health and addiction package ahead of the Budget.
