    Large waves are expected to batter the West Coast this weekend


    MetService has issued a wave warning from Jackson Bay to Karamea.

    Boaties are being warned of high swells, poor visibility and very rough seas from today until Sunday.

    MetService says waves are forecast to reach six metres on Friday and even seven metres on Saturday and Sunday.
