Motorists are being urged to take care on icy roads

Motorists are being urged to take care on icy roads

A critically injured person's been airlifted from a two-car crash on State Highway 63, at the intersection with Waihopai Valley Road, west of Renwick.

Another person's been injured after a truck collided with an already-crashed truck between Lake Tekapo and Twizel..

Police are also warning driving conditions could also be hazardous in Dunedin's hilly suburbs.

Some areas of the South Island are shivering through their coldest morning this year.

Minus 10 has been recorded in Omarama and Mount Cook Village, while Hanmer Springs dipped to minus-6.
