Nearly 1500 Greenhithe residents have signed a petition against newly installed concrete barriers to separate cyclists from motorists, on Upper Harbour Drive.
In a report - North Shore Senior Sergeant Warwick Stainton says the barriers are a driving hazard, narrow the road too much, and have removed an emergency stopping shoulder for motorists.
Auckland Transport says it's aware of the Police safety concerns, but won't say if it agrees with them.... only confirming the two agencies have regular road safety discussions.
