Jamaican Shericka Jackson has come within a fraction of the world record in winning the women's 200.
Jackson has beaten Olympic champion Shelly Ann Fraser Price into silver in a championship record time of 21.45 seconds.
American Noah Lyles has retained his world 200 metres title with a dominant win in a scintillating time of 19.31 seconds, the third fastest time in history.
Kiwis Geordie Beamish and Hamish Carson have finished 12th in their respective heats to miss out on the men's 5000 metres final.
