The world number four has opened with a even par 71 to lie six shots off the pace being set by Japan's Hinako Shibuno.
American Jessica Korda is a shot off the lead on five under par.
Meanwhile Daniel Hillier and Josh Geary have both carded one over par 71s to be five shots off the pace after the first round of the DP World Tour's Cazoo Open in Wales.
