    New research suggests 44-percent of global cancer-related deaths in 2019 were caused by risk factors including smoking, drinking alcohol, and being overweight


    It's believed half of all male deaths, and over a third of female deaths from the disease were due to risk factors.

    Washington University Doctor, and report co-author, Christopher Murray is calling for investment in risk reduction strategies.

    He also wants to strengthen health systems for early diagnosis and effective treatment.
