The front moves north reaching central New Zealand late Thursday, followed by a disturbed west to southwesterly flow, while a weak trough affects the upper North Island. The front crosses the North Island on Friday and a ridge builds over the South Island. The ridge should spread onto the North Island on Saturday. Forecast issued at 1650hrs Tuesday 23-Apr-2024 Valid to 7 pm Tuesday for Inshore waters between Cape Kidnappers and Portland Island. Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Northwest 10 knots developing this evening. Sea slight. Fine. Southerly swell rising to 1.5 metres, but 2 to 2.5 metres in the east. Wednesday: Northwest 10 knots, becoming variable 5 knots in the morning. Northwest 15 knots developing in the evening. Sea slight. Fine.
